“We had been looking for a church that provided something meaningful and uplifting. My wife had heard about this church through her job as a home health physical therapist. I visited the church on a Sunday recently when she wasn’t able to come. I found this service exciting, EXCITING and very spirit filled. Couldn’t wait to get home and tell her. I told her about the service and got her excited too. So the next Sunday we visited together and toward the end of the service I thought she was going to break my arm off. So we came back that night and the following Sunday and night. Two Sundays later, after the new Pastor…that is out of this world… was voted in, my wife says “let’s join”. And the rest is history. SO… if you happen to be looking for a church where your spirit can get excited…. the word of GOD is preached line for line from the Bible with explanation that rivals nowhere else….an understanding taught like nothing I have experienced in the past 10 to 15 years…… This is the place to visit.” Robert Falls (Nov 2014)
The thought of visiting a church for the first time can be intimidating. All of us were visitors at one point so we know that it’s much easier to enter a new place when you know what to expect. At Liberty Baptist Church, you will find a warm and friendly atmosphere, uplifting music, and thought provoking Bible teaching and preaching. We hope you will find the following information helpful:
What should I wear?
There is no dress code for our members or our guests. Pastor Mack Tester and many of our church families dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Liberty.
What are your services like?
Liberty has two Sunday morning worship services (8:30 & 11:00 am) with a Sunday School hour in between. Each worship service typically lasts between 75 and 90 minutes and includes a 30-40 minute exposition of Scripture. While we follow a traditional style, our services are not ultra-formal. You will find a warm family atmosphere, spirited congregational singing, uplifting choir specials, gifted soloists and a practical biblical message from Pastor Mack Tester.
Will I have to stand up in front of people?
Though Pastor Tester does welcome our guests at every service, he will not single you out or make you feel uncomfortable. However, we would like a record of your visit and ask that you fill out a “Visitor’s Card” and place in the offering plate when it passes. or leave it behind in your seat when you exit the service.
Do expect to be noticed. Expect people to say something like, “Hi, we haven’t met before, is this your first time at Liberty?” Expect for people to reach out to you in love. You’re with friends. Even if you’ve never been in church before, you’ll find that our church is open and receptive to meeting you where you are and helping you take steps to be where God wants you to be.
Not only do we hope you will come again but we also hope you are inspired to share the love of Christ where you live, work and play!
Do I need to give in the offering?
No. We don’t ask you to put anything in the offering plate except the visitor’s card. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, the truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. As our guest, please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering.
Do you provide childcare during any of your services?
Yes. We offer safe, clean, and compassionate nursery care during every service for children ages 0-3 so that you, and others, can enjoy the service without distraction.
Where do my school-age children go?
What about my teenagers?
If there’s something we missed on this list, just give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you’re new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it’s been a long time since you’ve attended church at all, we hope your first visit to Liberty will be refreshing and encouraging! We are looking forward to meeting you personally. Let us know how we can serve you better. We hope to meet you this Sunday!
